DAISY ROOTS

product design

This project was an exercise in product design. I started by creating two hand-crafted ruffle collars, and built the brand around them. The name “Grinning at the Daisy Roots” is 19th century slang for someone being dead and buried, chosen to reflect the beautiful yet dark aesthetic of the brand. The earthy name is also a reference to the fact that the collars are all made from scrap material, making use of fabric destined for the grave. I designed a website to showcase the collars, as well as hang tags and other packaging.
